Youth group planning service trip

This summer, June 24 – 30, 2018, The Dover Church Youth Group will take it’s ministry of service to Western Maine. Building upon its past experience with Appalachian Service Project in West Virginia, the group will bring its home repair skills to Mission to the Eastward. This organization is part of the Presbyterian Church and has been serving Mainers since 1954.

The youth group will be specifically working with the North Parish Housing Ministry (northparishhousingministry.weebly.com), soon to be renamed the MATE Housing Ministry, which helps people in the Farmington area stay in their homes who without our help would not be able to. The group will roof, build porches and ramps, paint, and otherwise do the sorts of projects it has done in years past for ASP.

IMG_9703To find out more, reserve a space on the trip (places are limited), and get the calendar of tool training and team building meetings, visit Kraft Hall at The Dover Church, 17 Springdale Avenue, at 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 24. Pizza will be served. Attendees should feel free to invite their friends.

Participants do not need to be handy; the group will teach them everything they need to know. The church is always looking for adults who would like to come along too.

IMG_9011Any questions should be directed to the church via phone at (508-785-0957), or via email to the co-leaders (Max Olmstead, max@thedoverchurch.org, or Sarah Hefter, sarah@thedoverchurch.org).

Participants do not need to be a member of The Dover Church - or even religious - to join in this life-enriching experience.IMG_9711
