Expresso Yourself hosting New Year’s Gala

[ccfic caption-text format="plaintext"]

On the last Saturday of the month, December 30, Expresso Yourself Coffeehouse will host an international dance party from 7-10 p.m.

There will be an open mic where teens and adults can share a poem, story, song, or dance. Following the open mic will be international folk dancing led by a professional dance caller and music by The Larger Circle Band.

The Larger Circle Band was formed almost two years ago when members of the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church of Medfield realized they shared a love of international folk music. Their leader, Fritz Fleischmann, is a violinist who has been in similar folk bands for dozens of years. The Larger Circle Band has been playing international dance music from Serbia, Ireland, Israel, Russia, and other countries since 2015.

Host Thea Iberall says, "This was very successful last year and we are glad to do it again. People had a lot of fun!"

Ticket donations are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. There will be complimentary hors d’oeuvres and desserts, and a cash bar. Attendees are welcomed to share a poem, story, or song in the open mic. Teens and adults are welcome.

The Expresso Yourself Coffeehouse is held on the last Saturday of every month at First Parish Unitarian Universalist, Medfield.
