MSH Committee unveils narrated video tour

[ccfic caption-text format="plaintext"]

The Medfield State Hospital Master Planning Committee is inviting the community to view a narrated driving tour to see features and concepts of the recently-released Strategic Reuse Master Plan for the hospital site. While riding in a classic 1967 Oldsmobile convertible, Gil Rodgers illustrates and explains how historic buildings would be restored and reused, how open space and scenic vistas are being preserved and expanded, shows designated locations for a cultural hub and recreational/athletic facility, and identifies proposed retail and commercial space, including a possible site for an inn. He is being driven around by Richard Knights of the Modifiers Car Club of Wellesley.

The 30 minute video is available on Medfield TV on Comcast Channels 8 or 22 and Verizon Channels 36, 45 or 47. It is also available on YouTube at http://tiny.cc/mshguidedtour.

The Master Plan is available for review on the Town’s website at MSHVision.net. Viewers are encouraged to read the four-page Executive Summary first. A more detailed rationale and explanation of the plan is found in Chapter VIII, The Preferred Redevelopment Scenario (pages 85-122). A complete draft of the zoning by-law has also been prepared and can be read in the Appendix Document, Chapter 11, Draft Zoning By-law for Medfield State Hospital, (pages 137 - 175).

A copy of the Master Plan is available in the Medfield Town Hall and at the Medfield Library. The Master Planning Committee will be in Booth #80 at Medfield Day, Saturday, September 15, to discuss the plan, answer questions, and receive feedback.
