DS track sweeps Mustangs

The Dover-Sherborn Regional High School girls and boys track teams earned decisive victories against rival Medway this past week. The Lady-Raiders won their match by an 81-55 final, while the boys took their match by a landslide final of 105-31.

For the boys, Tylan Mendes took home first place in the 100-meter with a time of 11.7 seconds with Sam Litle placing second. Brooks Burt (16.6) placed first in the 110 hurdles with Chris Mutch placing third at 19.4. Litle and Mendes placed first and second in the 200-meter while Jacob Brown (54.7) and Luke Loeffler (56.6) finished first and third in the 400-meter.

Ryan Britt (1:03.5) placed first in the 400-meter hurdle with John Fattore (1:03.68) and Danny Bennett (1:05.5) finishing second and third respectively. Oliver Fried (1:58.5) finished first in the 800-meter and Oren Wiemeyer (2:09.2) placed second.

Noah Guarini (4:51.9) finished second in the mile while Will Brown (4:56.9) placed third. Scott Sirri (11:00.6) finished first in the two-mile while Fattore (11:26.7) came in right behind at second. Bennett placed first in the discuss at 114-7.5, with Ethan Blanchard (102-9) and Patrick Vaughn (100-5) finishing at second and third. Will Brown won the high jump at 5-10, with Bennett Gridley placing second at 5-4. Blanchard won the javelin throw at 126-4. Joe Collins (121-3) placed second and Bennett (119-9) placed third. Spencer Robbins won the long jump at 19-1.5. Mendes won the shot put at 37-4, and Jacob Brown won the triple jump (36-4). The 4x100 relay team of Beck Schutte, Owen Mandel, Ryan Clarke, and Spencer Robbins placed first as well at 49.5.

For the girls, Tatum Evans (13.7) and Sigal Levine (13.9) finished second and third respectively in the 100-meter. Evans (28.2) won the 200-meter with Riona Crowley (29.6) placing third. Colleen Doyle (67.6) won the 400-meter and Merritt Sullivan (1:14.9) and Amanda Borden (1:22.1) placed first and second in the 400-meter hurdles.

Jillian Davis (2:32.6) and Sophia Tate (2:43.8) finished second and third in the 800-meter. Charlotte Kinchla (6:03.2) won the one-mile with Isabel Tate (6:08.3) placing third. Caitlin Britt (13:11.9) won the two-mile with Virginia Borths (13:40) placing second. Olivia Collins (93-9) won the discuss with Jillian Sawan (56-1) placing second.

Amanda Borden won the high jump at 5-2. Sabrina Doyle (93-4) won the javelin. Aznive Gigarjian (26-2.5) won the shot put with Sofia Bulotsky (23-11) finishing second. Sofia Federico (29-10) and Katie Kovrlija (29-2) placed second and third in the triple jump.

The 4x100 relay team of Priscilla Tso, Riona Crowley, Isabelle Robbins, and Izabella Friedel took home first place with a time of 56.8. The 4x400 relay team composed of Jillian Davis, Colleen Doyle, Sophia Tate, and Merritt Sullivan also took first with a time of 4:33.7.

Olivia Collins qualified for states with her performance in the discus, while Sam Litle (200), Oliver Fried (800), and Will Brown (high jump) all qualified on the boys side.
