Several members of the Dover-Sherborn Regional High School varsity swim and dive team competed in the Division III Sectional Championships on Saturday afternoon at MIT in Cambridge. This comes after a solid all-around performance by DS at the TVL Championships on February 4, where the Raiders finished third overall.

Zach Lawrence took home first-place in the one-meter diving at the TVLs while sophomore Katie Hennessy finished fifth on the girls side.

In the days prior to the sectional meet, DS senior captain Chelsea Zhang committed to swim at MIT next fall. Joining Zhang at her future home pool on Saturday for sectionals were teammates Charlotte Moore (senior), Riley Correll (junior), Carolina Soska (sophomore), Brighid McGuire (senior), Hennessy, and Lawrence.

At the sectional meet, Zhang finished fifth in the 100-meter butterfly and also helped propel DS’s 200-meter freestyle relay team to a State-qualifying time in what was an extremely successful day for the Raiders.

Zhang and the gang will head to Boston University on February 17 and 18 for the MIAA State Championship meet, where the future MIT Beaver and her teammates will swim in the 200 freestyle relay while Caroline Soska will compete individually in the 500 freestyle.
