Last Friday and Saturday, Needham High wrestling took part in the Div. 1 state tournament at Brockton High. The Rockets sent five wrestlers to that meet and four advanced to the All-State tournament this weekend at Reading High.

Junior Brady Liss was the top finisher for Needham, taking second at 113 pounds. Senior Lucas Goldman took third at 160 and senior Ethan Okunas (152) and junior Dan Aksman (182) each took sixth in their respective weight classes.

The wrestlers will square off with competitors from all divisions this weekend with hopes of qualifying for the New Englands.

In addition, the Rockets received the prestigious MIAA Sportsmanship Award for Div. 1 wrestling at the state meet last weekend.
