The Walpole girls varsity tennis team lost to Wellesley, 5-0, at Walpole High School on Friday, April 29.

After dropping all of their singles and doubles matches on the day to a very difficult Wellesley squad, Walpole (3-3, including a 2-1 home record) is now sitting in the middle of the Herget division of the Bay State Conference at the time of printing. Walpole remains the only team to have both won and lost in the Herget - the conference is particularly top and bottom heavy, with leaders Wellesley and Natick undefeated and Norwood, Milton and Dedham yet to taste victory.

The Walpole girls varsity tennis team, coached by Diane Heinold, returns to action this week with games scheduled in Dedham and Norwood. They will return home to face Needham, Bay State Conference opponents and owners of a record comparable to their own, in Walpole on Monday, May 9.
