The Westwood High School varsity boys tennis team improved to 8-3 in the TVL on with a 4-1 victory against Medfield on a blistering hot afternoon last Thursday as part of the team’s senior day. Senior captains Aaron Janfaza and Afraz Padamsee helped orchestrate a dominant singles performance with Janfaza winning his match 6-2, 7-5. All the while, Padamsee got a little bit of revenge after losing to Medfield’s Jake Twer in three sets when the two met for first time back in April, winning on Thursday by a final of 6-2, 7-5.

Westwood was just as equally dominant in doubles as they were in singles, as the duo of senior captain Billy Wallace and senior Brian Foley put together a strong showing in their 6-0, 6-4 victory in consecutive sets. Last but certainly not least, seniors Caleb Axworthy and Jack Papetti won their doubles match 6-3, 6-2.

The Westwood boys will look to end the regular season strongly when they host Hopkinton on May 25.
