The Westwood 5th and 6th grade girls Saint Denis CYO basketball team has won the New England CYO championship.
After going 11-1 in the regular season (which included one forfeit), the Saint Denis girls defeated St. Agatha of Milton, St. Adelaide of Peabody, and St. Margaret Mary of Westwood to win the Archdiocese of Boston playoffs. They then defeated St. Pius of Manchester and St. Theresa of Bridgeport to win the CYO New England championship.
The team consisted of Lily Bean, Ava Connaughton, Katelyn Fay, Layne Fennell, Shannon Griffin, Molly Kilgarriff, Ella Mason, Catherine McGowan, Ava Orlando, and Anna Raftery. Coaches were Jim McGowan and Chuck Bean.
