The Westwood 8th grade girls basketball team recently captured the Division 1 MetroWest Championship. After securing the third seed for the playoffs, Westwood defeated Easton and Raynham to make the championship game against perennial foe, Franklin. The team's tenacious defense and across-the-board contributions helped them pull away in the fourth quarter to win, 45-36 - a perfect way to end their five-year travel basketball careers.
