Union Congregational Church plans Rummage Sale

Union Congregational Church’s Annual Rummage Sale on April 6 is expanding its list of beneficiaries. This year, a portion of all clothing donations and sales will go to support Rosie’s Place, a non-profit located in Boston that offers shelter, sanctuary and support to over 12,000 poor and homeless women.

Donations of clothing, shoes, bedding & accessories can be dropped off at the side entrance of Union Congregational Church, located on 55 Rhoades Ave in East Walpole, in bins marked for the sale. All women’s, men’s and children’s items are accepted through April 5. The team at Union will sort through donations and set aside specifically needed items that can be given directly to Rosie’s Place.

Shop for new treasures to love at the Annual Rummage and Baked Goods Sale on April 6 from 9 a.m. to noon. The sale will feature a wide range of quality items, including children’s, women’s and men’s clothing, shoes, bedding, and curtains. Clothing may be purchased for $5 per brown paper grocery bag, or by individual item.

The event is free and wheelchair accessible, with plenty of parking next to Bird Park.

Proceeds will be split between Rosie’s Place and Union Congregational Church’s Christian Outreach efforts at work in Walpole and beyond. These efforts include the church’s mission trip northern Maine, where volunteers will work to improve housing conditions for those most in need.
