United Church hosting Border Witness talk

United Church in Walpole is inviting the community to join them on Saturday, October 20, for an evening of good food and a compelling story of Faithful Witness at the Border. UCW members Sheila Harbst and Lois and Philip Czachorowski spent five days in August on the US/Mexican border with 100 United Church of Christ members on a mission to learn and serve. They have an absorbing story to tell in a multi-media presentation following the meal. Theirs was a profound and life-changing experience that members of the community will want to hear.

The dinner and talk is a free event, although a donation of $5 per person (or $15 per family) to offset the cost of the food would be appreciated and will be gratefully accepted at the door. Childcare will be provided during the presentation.

Reservations are necessary for the dinner. To reserve space, sign up at www.unitedwalpole.org/samaritansupper or call the United Church office at (508-668-0551). No reservation is required if you want to attend the talk only at 7 p.m. The event takes place in Bradford Lewis Hall, which is the fellowship hall in the rear of the church building; enter through the lower door on the right side.

United Church in Walpole is located at 30 Common Street, next to the Post Office. There is plenty of parking in the church lots, with overflow parking available in neighboring lots.
