Wellesley Rotarians induct new members

The Wellesley Rotary Club has inducted three new members into its ranks.

Martin Chiu: Martin and his wife, Frannie, have lived in Wellesley since 1990. They have two sons, both of whom participated with the Interact club sponsored by the Rotary club of Wellesley. Elder son Nathan is a Wharton Business School freshman and his younger son, Ethan, is a Wellesley High School senior. Martin has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering degree from McMaster University, Ontario, Canada, and conducted graduate computer science research at Boston University. He has been working in the data communication field for more than 25 years. His hobbies are photography and philatelic collection specializing in US Airmail. He actively volunteers in many Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) events including Wellesley STEM Expo (Wellesley Education Foundation). He is a Wellesley Middle School MathCounts competition coach, and Wellesley H.S. Air Force CyberPatriot competition technical consultant. He enjoys skiing, biking and watching action movies with his sons in his spare time.

Cynthia Sibold: Cynthia Sibold is the Founder and Managing Director of The Mosaic Group, a small business providing cultural awareness consulting for international students and families moving to the United States. She was born and raised in Toronto, Canada and received a BA in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario. Cynthia has lived most of her adult life outside of Canada in the US, Europe and most recently in Sydney, Australia.  Throughout her career, Cynthia has focused on helping people to adjust to international moves while learning to appreciate cultural differences. Cynthia has worked as an intercultural trainer for Cartus, a global relocation firm, and at International Professional Relations (IPR), providing professional relocation services to corporate employees relocating to the United States. She is a certified Global Mobility Specialist with the Worldwide Employee Relocation Council and is currently a member of the Society of Intercultural Educators Trainers and Researchers (SIETAR), the Association of International Educators (NAFSA) and Families in Global Transition (FIGT).  Cynthia and her family are now permanently based in Wellesley, MA after 25 years of domestic and international moves and assignments. In her leisure time, Cynthia enjoys volunteering in the community and spending time with her husband and three children. 

William Westerman: Bill Westerman has been a Wellesley resident for over 23 years. His wife, Cynthia, runs her own consulting business and Bill is Senior Vice President of Marketing for Synovia Solutions, a leading provider of GPS-driven fleet and asset management solutions.  Bill and Cynthia have three sons: Reed (age 23), Todd (20) and Scott (17). Reed and Todd are graduates of Wellesley High School (WHS) and Scott is a senior at WHS, where he plays on the football and lacrosse teams. Bill has been involved with coaching youth sports over the years and previously served on the Wellesley United Soccer board. Mr. Westerman is a native of Jefferson City, MO and has degrees in Architecture and Construction Engineering from Kansas State University. He started his career working for architectural design firms in Omaha, NE and Dallas,TX before moving to the Boston area in 1984 to pursue a career in high tech marketing and sales. Bill looks forward to being an active member and participate in the community service activities within the local Rotary Club.
