Deerfield Halloween event a huge success

Deerfield held its first Annual Monster Dash/Trunk-or-Treat Halloween Event on Friday, October 25, and was quickly deemed a huge success by both parents and students.

The event kicked off with a "Monster Dash," in which students, dressed in their Halloween costumes, raced across the Deerfield field in various heats. First place winners of each heat included: 5th grader Liam Guadagno, 3rd grader Christopher Capodilupo, 1st grader Kaya Unger and K'er Charlie Clemmons.

A fun and festive "Trunk-or-Treat" followed the races, during which many parents and teachers decorated their car trunks as various themes, including a pirate ship, outer space and an underwater sea. Parents went all out with their creativity and the kids loved all the candy and goodies that were handed out.

Throughout the event, DJ Teenie Z kept both kids and parents rocking out to her selection of fan-favorite tunes.

This new event, which promotes community-building within the school, is anticipated to become an annual tradition at the Deerfield.
