The Rev. Dr. Stephanie Salinas, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Westwood, has recently been elected to the Board of General Ministries of the American Baptist Churches in the USA. The Board is the governing body of the denomination, and Dr. Salinas will be the director representing the American Baptist churches in Massachusetts. The American Baptist Churches in the USA is a diverse denomination, and the members of the Board are chosen to represent a variety of backgrounds. She will serve for a term of four years while continuing in her role as pastor of First Baptist.

About her election, Dr. Salinas said, "The Church is in a time of significant transition throughout the United States, and our denomination is included in that transition. Being part of the journey forward is an honor for me, as we seek to find new ways to love God and love all of our neighbors."

Dr. Salinas has been pastor of First Baptist since 2015, and has served as an ordained American Baptist minister since 2002. She holds a Master of Divinity degree from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in New Jersey, and a Doctorate of Ministry degree from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago.
