The Dover Sherborn boys' varsity soccer team defeated Norton last Tuesday night, snapping the Division 3 South champions' 26-game winning streak since 2014. In a game that was played masterfully by the DS boys on their own turf field, senior Zach Abrams scored early in the game on an assist from captain Eli Yasuna. In the second half, Yasuna himself scored on a shot from the outside by senior Daniel Yang. Senior goalkeeper Robby Black played a near perfect game, blocking nine shots from the Norton opposition, assisted on defense by captain Sam Hartley. Coach Joe Gruseck, proud of his team's accomplishment, remarked on how hard the team has been working since preseason, and that moving forward, he knows they will continue to improve. “The timing, going into the game, we knew they had the streak,” Gruseck commented. “It was a good challenge for us and I'm very proud of our team.” The DS boys will now prepare for their next away game on Thursday against Medfield.
