The second installment of artist Madeline Bugeau-Heartt’s latest theatrical endeavor “A Crack of Strange Light” will premier this weekend on Sunday, January 28, amidst the wintery splendor of Hale Reservation. Part Two of this performance series will be held for one night only in the Powissett Lodge at 5 p.m.

“A Crack of Strange Light” is an otherworldly, theatrical exploration of faith, magic, and our shared hunger to feel less alone amidst the chaos. Set in suburbia and occurring over the course of six months, “A Crack of Strange Light” follows the journey of Richard, a fallen angel searching for his way back home. Richard will draw back the veil to illuminate mystery in the seemingly mundane and help the community listen for the strangely hopeful whistle on the wind.

“Especially during the darkest, coldest part of winter,” says artist Madeline Bugeau-Heartt, “a time when many individuals draw inwards and self-reflect, I wanted to continue the story of Richard and his lover Mallory with more private questions of the human spirit: How do we find meaning in the day-to-day? Are we truly free in the lives we choose? Where does love factor into the picture? At the very least I hope people are able to warm up: ‘Part Two’ has a definite Hollywood twist!”

“A Crack of Strange Light” returns to reignite the imagination of the community with succulent seductions of love, howling questions of freedom, and space to bask in the strange wonder of being lost and found all at once.

“The goal of the piece is not to provide answers, but to unlock the imagination of the community, share in the magic of storytelling, and find awe in the bittersweet experience of being human in an ever-changing word.”

This event is free and open to the public. The community is urged to reserve tickets online prior to the performance, as space is very limited. Donations can be made online or at the event itself. “A Crack of Strange Light: Part Two” For further information, visit https://www.acrackofstrangelight.com.
