On Thursday, December 7, Westwood's COA choir gave their first performance at the Westwood Woman's Club Christmas party.

Carol Abel recently organized the group of twelve women with well-known guest tenor soloist Duane Sullivan. Carol's exquisite piano accompaniment directed the singers with polished charm and bubbling energy. Together they provided an afternoon of rich musical selections and riveting harmonies with razor sharp timing and gleeful animation. The traditional “Twelve Days of Christmas” delighted with mime movements, a tambourine staccato and joyful antics. An encore invited club members to sing along. The club thanked Carol with a lovely poinsettia.

IMG_26241IMG_2621WWC members Mary Mahoney, Joanne Peterson, Sue Scales and Ann Marie Sullivan are part of the choir. Ann Marie is also Mother Bear to Duane and his wife, Elaine. Kathy Davis from First Parish Church sang “O Holy Night.” The club also entertained guests of choir and members.

Co-hostesses Anne Perkland and Jean Meryers and their committee of board members presented a lovely decorated table with an enticing assortment of savories and sweets, including delicious sandwiches and homemade desserts. Members donated more than thirty Christmas gifts for The Home for Little Wanderers. A great time was had by all. Anne Berkland, Marion Plaisted and Joy Clancy also won poinsettias.
